Oracle Enterprise Linux

I downloaded it, installed it, and found that in order to use up2date you need to have a login and CSI for the “Unbreakable Linux Network”. I could probably use my client’s CSI but I don’t see any good coming from that, so it’s gone from my (virtual) system. As Howard Rogers pointed out, the Application menu is also empty on install, and that doesn’t exactly fill you with confidence.
Back to good old CentOS!

By the way, it really didn’t seem to be much customised for an Oracle installation — would it be beyond the wit of man to just have an install option for Oracle 10.2 and have the packages you need installed for you? Maybe I’m missing the point. What is the point of this New Thing again?
