Firefox 2.0

Posted by David Aldridge on 2006-11-14

What, you ask, could provoke a calm and sober citizen to leap into a 2.0 version of “essential” software when they have a perfectly functional 1.5 version already working?

In my case, it was the automatic upgrade to 1.5.0.8 that I suffered a wekk or so ago and which caused my browser to regularly crash when performing mundane tasks like … um … well browsing. 2.0 has been solid for 24 hours+ so I have no hesitation in recommending it.

been using it at work for 2 months now.
    highly recommended!

  2. Maybe the instability if 1.5.0.8 is a deliberate encouragement to upgrade — clever stuff.

  3. I’d love it if enterprise manager worked as well in Firefox as it does in IE. Maybe some of the folks who work on Oracle Linux could help make this happen.

  4. In that respect I have not moved away from the java console version yet. I’m old skool.

  5. Spell checker. But what would you care? ;)
